Kristina Dawson – Retired Elder Law Attorney
My name is Kristina Dawson, and I am a retired elder law attorney with over 25 years of experience serving seniors and their families. During my career, I specialized in estate planning, Medicaid and long-term care planning, guardianships, and advocating for the rights of older adults. I have always believed that every individual deserves to live with dignity, security, and peace of mind, and I made it my mission to ensure that my clients had the tools and support they needed to navigate life’s challenges.
Throughout my practice, I approached every case with compassion and a deep sense of responsibility. I recognized that many of the families I worked with were facing some of the most difficult moments of their lives, whether it was planning for an uncertain future, securing care for a loved one, or addressing the complexities of legal and financial matters related to aging. It was an honor to be a trusted advisor, helping them find clarity and solutions that brought them comfort and confidence.
Beyond my legal work, I was deeply involved in advocacy for seniors and their families. I served on the boards of several nonprofit organizations dedicated to aging, long-term care, and elder abuse prevention. I also devoted significant time to educating the community through public speaking events, workshops, and seminars. Empowering individuals with knowledge was, and still is, a passion of mine. I believe that understanding your rights and options is the first step toward protecting yourself and your loved ones.
Since retiring, I’ve shifted my focus to writing and mentoring, sharing my expertise with a broader audience. I want to continue making a difference by providing resources, insights, and support to caregivers, families, and even young professionals who are just starting their journeys in elder law or senior care. It’s incredibly fulfilling to know that the lessons I’ve learned throughout my career can still have a positive impact on others.
In my personal life, I enjoy traveling, gardening, and spending time with my family, especially my grandchildren, who bring me endless joy. Retirement has also given me the opportunity to explore creative hobbies and connect with the community in new ways.
Looking back, I’m proud of the legacy I’ve built and grateful for the countless relationships I’ve formed along the way. Though I’ve retired from practicing law, my commitment to serving others and advocating for the well-being of seniors remains as strong as ever. My life’s work has always been rooted in helping others, and I’m excited to continue that journey in new and meaningful ways.
